Gary's Dream

Welcome to Dreams of a CrackerJack Nurse.

A huge flat circle face coming closer. Grinning, smiling, mean doctor. Saying kind words about me to me. Big face.
Inches away.
Pushing it, the big face springs back into the dark arena. Air heavy.
Clinging vines surround, soundless, tracking seasonal changes in green skies. Up! Up!  Hit it with the ax in my hand!
Hospital hallway crooked and sloped. “Got to get that fixed.”
Can't find the medication cart. Late, late. Late. They will find out. They will blame me.
Where is everybody? Hearing sounds of hidden people. Playing cards. Laughing.
Dark halls empty.
C-Sections in the back of the hospital where the yellowed light is.
Who's helping the doctor?
Horror waves clearing brains. Stupid stupidity.
The stickman beckons, mouthing “help!” Laughter bubbling from a flattened woman, giving birth. Eyes roll backward looking straight at me. No escape.
Babies moving within.
Within me.
No! No! No!
